Faithful ("the App") is a Bible study and spiritual growth app developed by Jeremy Hermanns / Walk Faithful LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We built Faithful with a simple principle: your faith journey is personal, and your data should stay that way.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
The vast majority of your data in Faithful never leaves your device. The following are stored locally using on-device storage and are never transmitted to us or any third party:
Faithful transmits a limited amount of data to third-party services in order to provide core app features. We do not collect, store, or have access to any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.
When you use the Faith AI chat feature, the text of your messages is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI processes your messages to generate a response but does not store them for training or future use under our API agreement. No identifying information is attached to these requests — they are anonymous.
When you use the listen/audio feature, text is sent to OpenAI's Text-to-Speech API to generate audio. The same privacy protections apply as with the chat feature.
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and managed with the help of RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID (not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID) to manage your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment information — Apple handles all billing directly.
Faithful offers Sign in with Apple as an optional authentication method. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email address (or a private relay email address) with us. We use this information solely to identify your account within the App. We do not sell or share this information with third parties. You may choose to use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature to keep your real email address private.
If you enable daily reminders, Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs) processes a device token to deliver notifications to your device. This token is not linked to your identity and is managed entirely by Apple.
As an iOS app, Faithful operates within Apple's ecosystem. Apple may collect certain data as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This is outside our control.
If you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive your name and email address (or Apple relay address) as provided by Apple. Beyond this optional authentication data, we do not collect your phone number, physical address, location data, or device identifiers tied to your identity. The App does not require an account or login to use its core features.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Period.
Faithful does not contain any ads and does not use any advertising tracking frameworks.
Faithful is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, there is no mechanism through which children's data could be gathered. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@walkfaithful.com and we will take appropriate steps.
Since your data is stored on your device, you control its retention. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. Chat messages sent to OpenAI for processing are not retained by OpenAI under our API terms. RevenueCat retains anonymous subscription records as needed to manage your subscription status.
We take reasonable measures to protect the transmission of data to third-party services, including the use of encrypted HTTPS connections. On-device data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, etc.).

Faithful does not use any third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs. We do not track your behavior within the App. Apple may collect anonymized, aggregated app analytics if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers through your device settings.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. As described in this policy, Faithful collects minimal personal information (only if you use Sign in with Apple). We do not sell personal information. If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Data transmitted to OpenAI and RevenueCat may be processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
